North Dakota Livestock Pollution Prevention Program (LP3)

Program Description

The LP3 Program offers 60% cost share for manure runoff containment and winter grazing systems. A maximum of $210,000 of cost share is available per producer. There are a variety of practices that may be eligible for cost share if producers are approved for funding.

The full containment system practices include:

  • Confinement buildings
  • Site preparation
  • Excavation (dikes, ponds, lagoons, and lot shaping)
  • Gravel for feed roads
  • Geotextile for roads
  • Concrete aprons
  • Water tanks and water line/trenching
  • Wells
  • Fencing
  • Solid separators
  • Culvert and piping needed for feedlot
  • Concrete splash pads
  • Concrete manure pads
  • Seeding

Winter grazing system cost share practices include:

  • Portable windbreaks
  • Boundary fencing
  • Water tanks and water line/trenching
  • Wells
