Selecting a Location

The location of your garden will be the first important step. Without the right location for your plants, they most likely will be unable to grow or thrive.

Consider the following frequently asked questions when choosing a location by clicking on each flip card.

What are the soil conditions?

Good quality soil matters! Different plants will require different soil moistures - some need a wetter soil while others need a drier one.

How much sun exposure will the garden get?

Sun is a key element of plant growth! Some plants will need full sun exposure while others require more shade.

Are there restrictions on plant height?

A diverse group of plants mean they grow to various heights. Make sure your garden’s location doesn’t restrict any plants from growing as tall as they can!

Are there desired bloom colors?

Different bloom colors will attract different pollinator groups. Plant with diversity in mind!

What if I don’t have a yard for my garden?

Not to worry! You can create areas for pollinators by using flower pots, planters, window boxes or even a sidewalk space!
